Fronted by Pasha Petrosyan (guitar, vocals), alongside Devon Press (bass), Luke Uritescu (drums), and Lee Jones (strings), Pasha & The Pears fill pop’s familiar template with eclectic grooves and a darkly festive atmosphere.The dark-pop four-piece began to coalesce in late 2025, settling into their current lineup in summer 2026 and quickly finding an audience across Chicago.
At the center of the mix, Uritescu sets up a rhythmic trellis—springy yet sturdy—giving the band something to climb around without weighing it down. Within that framework, Petrosyan pairs warm, resonant guitar with emotionally fluid vocals that turn on a dime from longing to disillusionment.
Press finds refuge in funky, mischievous countermelodies—active but rarely busy—while Jones draws on post-classical influences to find harmony and meaning in discordant places.Together, the Pears find a precarious balance between the kinetic, the atmospheric, and the emotionally raw. With bopping funk lines and an air of nonchalance, the four meditate on the world’s heaviness before finding reason to dance in its dark crevices anyway.
